Personal Interests

Dr. Salmeron loves to spend time with family and friends. He enjoys outdoor activities like arts & crafts, music festivals, the beach, and parks. He also enjoys dining out and sharing a movie with family and friends. Dr. Salmeron has been blessed with a wonderful wife, daughter and another on the way.

Biography

Dr. Salmeron obtained his Medical Doctorate degree from Universidad Autonoma of Guadalajara, Mexico. He then obtained his medical postgraduate 5th Pathway certificate through New York Medical College. He completed his Family Medicine internship at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson in New Jersey and residency at the Baton Rouge General Hospital in Louisiana. Dr. Salmeron also obtained his Master’s of Science in Public Health (MSPH) from Tulane School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine in New Orleans.

Dr. Salmeron strives to bring great comprehensive medical care to every patient. He enjoys educating patients so they feel empowered to take better control of their health. As a Family Medicine doctor, Dr. Salmeron has always been a strong advocate of preventive medicine, which is the foundation for better long-term health outcomes. He has been part of health quality improvement programs including Blue Cross (quality iBlue provider) and the American College of Physicians (i-Raise the rate immunization champion provider). Dr. Salmeron enjoys establishing great relationships with his patients in private practice through a compassionate and ethical approach.

In addition to his strong interest in preventive medicine, Dr. Salmeron enjoys treating an array of medical conditions including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemias, thyroid disorder, cardiovascular conditions, colds, migraines, gastrointestinal disorders, musculoskeletal ailments and many others. Dr. Salmeron volunteered to provide free medical care to displaced people affected by hurricane Katrina, Baton Rouge, 2005 Mounted free health fair including blood pressure & diabetes screening, Lafayette, LA, 2015. Through the assistance of the American College of Physicians, Department of Health and Hospitals and Walgreens, Dr. Salmeron distributed vouchers that allowed uninsured patients to receive free influenza vaccinations, 2015.
